April 12 - SA Border

We've finally left on our main trip, which will take us up to Alice Springs as our first main target destination. First day, we started out about midday and drove through to almost the South Australian border. After being tempted to stay at caravan parks in Nhill and then Kaniva, we went on to the roadside stop at Serviceton (just on the Victorian side of the SA border) and free-camped at the golf course. It was noisy with trucks going past throughout the night, but it was better where we were compared to the "proper" roadside stop camping area that was right on the road. We might need to use the ear plugs next time. Or maybe we'll get used to the sound of big trucks roaring past as we sleep.
